Take baked sweet potatoes home and warm them just before eating. That’s the option at Sawayaka no Satsumaimo, an unmanned shop. One customer reported that a chilled pack cost 1,000 yen and weighed about 1 kg, with 6 sweet potatoes of assorted sizes in the 1-pack. Rather than expecting evenly sized potatoes, it may be best to think of it as a pack where each one is a different size.
The customer said that heating the potatoes in a microwave for around 1 minutes made them piping hot and gave them a soft, sticky texture. Since they can be taken home chilled, you can warm them whenever you’re ready to eat.
The shop operates on an unmanned basis. According to the customer, payment is made by putting the money into the slot to the right of the refrigerator. The shop is advertised as open for 24 hours a day, so you can drop by at any time.
